Joy in the midst of Chaos

One thing I have realised during this unprecedented time we are living in is that life will never be perfect and we can't expect it to always be what we want it to be. Life throws us curve balls but we cannot allow them to rob us of our joy. It is possible to keep your joy in the midst of the chaos, whether it is a pandemic, a bad relationship, a job you are unhappy in and so many other scenarios.

At times life might seem hopeless, there might be too much pain to deal with, you might be facing serious conflicts and feel that you are surrounded by chaos. Thes are unavoidable and the more you try to fix it the worse things become. In our own strenght we can do nothing.

When we focus on the problems and situations we find ourselves in we lose our joy and peace. But, when we spend time alone with God we are reminded to fix our eyes on Him and not our circumstances. God is the God of the impossible and He is far greater than what we are facing. When we choose to fix our eyes on Him our hope and joy will be restored regardless of all the chaos that surrounds us.

We read in Romans 15:13 - "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit".

What is impossible for us to fix is absolutely possible for God.

By placing our hope in our strength, abilities and circumstances we are robbed of our joy and peace because we can do nothing about it. That is why it is important to place our hope in a mighty God that is able to do all things so that our peace and joy can be restored.

God never intended for us to fight our own battles, what he expects from us is to simply be still and trust Him. God will always come through for us but we need to trust that He will do what He has promised. We need to stand firm in God's Word and we need to praise Him and live by faith.

No matter your circumstances, be filled with the joy of the Lord and praise God in the midst of your chaos. Don't wait for your life to be perfect before you praise Him. We can have God's joy in spite of what we are facing because joy isn't dependent on our feelings or circumstances but on our trust and faith in God and the relationship we have with Him.

When we choose to to praise God in the midst of our chaos we will be filled with joy. Stop focussing on the battle and instead focus on the God who is able to win the battle for you.

It is time to realise that God will NEVER fail you and He is faithful to to those who serve Him and walk according to His ways. In Psalm 25:3 we read that "No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame .....".

Once we acknowledge that God is actually in control and that things are out of our control joy will flood us. Fear does not stand a chance when we decide to stand firm in the Word of God. We can find encouragement in Psalm 16:8 - "I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With Him at my right hand, I will not be shaken."

When our faith is firmly secured in our God who is might to save, we can fix our eyes on Jesus and find hope in the fact that the circumstances we are facing can not move or shake us.

To get to the place where we are firmly secured in God and where we can truly fix our eyes on Jesus, we need to spend time in God's Word and meditate on it daily. We need to write it on the tablets of our hearts. By knowing God's Word we will be able to renew our minds daily and thereby our fears and doubts can be replaced by God's promises.

When we seek God's truth and presence joy will fill our lives because he promises us that when we seek Him we will find Him. Jeremiah 29:13 says - "You will seek Me and find Me, when you seek Me with all your heart."

Never forget that with God it is possible to have joy in the midst of the chaos.
