Peace, be still

In my next few blogs I'm going to focus on peace. I'm a busy with a devotional by Ann Goodfellow called The Path of the Pilgrim and this week's devotions have been speaking to me and has challenged me.

I pray it does the same for you!

Haggai 2:9 (CSB)

"The final glory of this house will be greater than the firs," says the Lord of Armies. "I will provide peace in this place" - this is the decleration of the Lord of Armies.

The Lord says, "Peace be still" to our anxious hearts. He calls us to come close and forget all that troubles us, the things that take our attention away from Him. he calls us closer to His side to rest in His presence and know the comfort that only He can bring.

He calls us to come apart from our labors, and come to His side to hear His loving voice and to know His warm smile and gentle touch. He calls us to forget all and rest in His loving arms. Jesus brings peace into our hearts - a peace that most cannot understand, for it is a peace that replaces all else in our soul. God's peace is a treasure to be cherished and longed for, and God gives it willingly to the seeking heart. Peace is a wonderful gift from God.

Lord, I hear You say, "Peace, be still" and I rest in your presence and pray that I may know Your peace and love filling my being. Amen.
